Shaiya Releases Summer Update Featuring New Event Zone and Atlantean Invasion System

Shaiya has introduced its latest update titled "Atlantis Awakening," which brings seasonal content centered around a new marine-themed event. Players can now access a new zone designed specifically for the summer event through the battleground interface. This area offers level-based instances, recurring boss encounters, and themed questlines connected to the ongoing conflict with a newly emerged marine faction.

In addition to the event zone, the update adds the Atlantean Invasion system. This feature introduces towers that appear not only in the new event area but also in a selection of classic PvE dungeons. Defeating these towers may lead to the appearance of boss entities tied to the event’s theme. Multiple dungeon levels now include these towers, providing additional opportunities for participation across a range of character levels.

The patch also includes a new crafting station that allows players to produce vanity items and a temporary mount using materials obtained through event-related activities. Several new gear items are available with stat bonuses and customization options. Other improvements include an offhand material exchange feature, enabling players to convert specific crafting materials into final offhand equipment through a vendor.

Tower of Fantasy to Launch Warped Server in China With No Gacha and Traditional MMO Features

Hotta Studio has announced the upcoming launch of the Warped Server for the Chinese version of Tower of Fantasy, scheduled for August 2025. This new server will exclude all gacha mechanics and aims to offer a more conventional MMORPG experience. Players will have access to six weapons at the start without the need for random draws, while additional equipment, cosmetics, and mounts will be earned through in-game participation such as daily logins and events. Paid gacha systems, including red nucleus pulls, will not be available on this server.

Alongside the removal of gacha, the Warped Server will feature an open player trading system supported by both a Trade House and an Auction House. These systems will allow the exchange of items such as matrices, cosmetics, and crafting materials. The server will also adopt a seasonal structure, where gear and stats reset periodically to maintain balance and allow newer players to join without long-term disadvantages. Seasonal content will include exclusive cosmetics, ranking rewards, and increased incentives for group activities.

Social systems are also being revised to emphasize multiplayer features. Guilds will gain access to custom bases, recruitment boards, and coordinated group events. Additionally, the combat system is being adjusted to include team-based ultimate skills that trigger synchronized group attacks. The server rollout will begin with a co-creation phase involving surveys and closed testing to gather player feedback. For now, the Warped Server is limited to the Chinese market, with no confirmed plans for international deployment.

MU Online Launches Season 20 Part 1 Update Featuring New Alchemist Class

Webzen has released Season 20 Part 1 for MU Online, adding a new playable class called the Alchemist. This class is based on traditional alchemy themes and uses a wand and elixir to execute skills that offer both offensive and supportive functions. Some of the skills include summoning homunculi for area damage, transforming rocks into explosive attacks, and calling additional monsters to support party grinding. The Alchemist provides an alternative to the game’s more conventional melee and magic-based combat roles.

Alongside the new class, a limited-time Speed Server has been introduced to assist with rapid progression. Players leveling on this server can earn 100 Ruud per level between 401 and 800, and receive a one-time server-transfer ticket per account. Additional rewards are available at levels 500, 650, 750, and 800, including Bloodangel gear, high-tier wings, cosmetic items, and bundled Ruud. This setup is intended to provide an incentive for players to try the new class and transition back to the standard servers once they reach specific milestones.

Several events have also been launched as part of the update. These include the Playtime Attack event scheduled for weekends in early August, and the Level-Up Ranking competition which rewards high-ranking players with Ruud and Bloodangel Soul items. Optional in-game shop bundles are available for those who want to enhance their leveling experience. MU Online, first launched in 2001, continues to operate through seasonal updates and maintains a user base in regions such as Latin America and Eastern Europe, in addition to its private server community.

Persona 5: The Phantom X Faces Criticism Over Update Disparity Between Global and Chinese Versions

Persona 5: The Phantom X, the mobile and PC spin-off of the Persona series, has seen a shift in its Steam user rating from "Mostly Positive" to "Mixed" following growing concerns from global players. The issue stems from a recent decision to speed up the global release schedule in order to match the Chinese version of the game. While the update frequency is set to increase, players have pointed out that in-game resource availability remains unchanged, making it difficult to keep pace with content releases.

A specific concern among global players involves discrepancies in in-game rewards. After a recent maintenance, users on global servers received 100 Meta-Gems, while players in China reportedly received 300. Additionally, promotional codes available in some Asian regions granted further Meta-Gem bonuses, increasing the gap in available resources. This imbalance has led to criticism from the community, with some users stating that the global version is not being managed with the same level of support as its counterpart.

The ongoing backlash has prompted comparisons to other service models, particularly referencing Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius, which shut down its global servers while continuing operations in Japan. Some users have suggested that Persona 5: The Phantom X may face a similar outcome if the feedback is not addressed. As of now, there has been no official response from Sega or the game’s developers regarding the reported differences in server support and reward distribution.

Ragnarok M: Eternal Love II Releases Open-World Demo Footage Featuring Exploration, Combat, and Social Features

Gravity Interactive and Big Cat Studio have released a new set of open-world demo videos for Ragnarok M: Eternal Love II. The clips highlight various traversal mechanics, including players climbing terrain, leaping across gaps, and navigating locations such as the walls of Prontera. These previews suggest a design direction that maintains references to the original Ragnarok Online while incorporating updated navigation and movement systems.

The second segment of the preview focuses on combat, with a six-minute video showing boss battles against characters like Eddga and Drake. The gameplay presents a more mobile and timing-based approach, with a noticeable emphasis on coordinated attacks and reactive play. This suggests that the sequel may be adjusting its battle systems to include more active participation from players during encounters.

The final portion of the demo presents the game’s social features. This includes character pose options for photos, a gifting system, and interactive elements related to relationships. These additions indicate that Ragnarok M: Eternal Love II will provide systems that support in-game social engagement. The combined previews outline the developers’ current direction, which appears to focus on traversal, combat adjustments, and community mechanics.

Kuro Games Reveals Project NAMI as a Multiplayer Action RPG

Kuro Games has officially announced Project NAMI, a multiplayer action RPG developed using Unreal Engine 5. The game was previously speculated to be an MMO, but recent details confirm its focus on competitive gameplay rather than traditional massively multiplayer online elements. Set in a world where advanced technology intersects with magic, Project NAMI introduces two opposing factions—Order and Chaos—engaged in ongoing conflict.

Project NAMI features mobility-based combat that emphasizes player adaptation in both PvP encounters and battles against non-player enemies. The game is designed with dynamic environments and combat scenarios, encouraging players to make strategic decisions in real time. While it maintains the visual and thematic direction of Kuro’s previous titles, the gameplay format moves toward competitive multiplayer systems, with references to game mechanics inspired by genres like RTS, MOBA, and shooters.

This project marks a shift in Kuro Games’ development focus, moving away from single-player action RPGs toward a more competitive online format. Job listings have pointed to an emphasis on anti-cheat systems and multiplayer infrastructure, which could suggest plans for ranked modes, team-based events, or similar structured content. Project NAMI has yet to receive a release date, and further information regarding platform availability and monetization has not been disclosed.

Bellatores Opens Korean Closed Beta on Steam and Introduces Action Combat

South Korean developer Nyou has announced that its upcoming MMORPG, Bellatores, will begin a closed beta test (CBT) in Korea through Steam. Sign-ups for participation will open on July 8, and the CBT itself will run from July 30 to August 3. During this test, players will have the option to select from two of the five planned noble Houses and explore core features such as combat systems, progression mechanics, and skill development. The goal of this phase is to gather player feedback and evaluate whether the game aligns with the development team's vision.

Bellatores has undergone notable changes since its initial announcement. Originally planned with a tab-targeting combat system using Unreal Engine 4, the developers have now moved to Unreal Engine 5 and adopted a full action combat approach. This update includes weapon switching and stamina management as key elements. Additionally, the game will implement a Mastery-based progression system, allowing players to advance skills and unlock abilities through various activities instead of following a fixed class structure.

Crafting will serve as a central system in Bellatores, with equipment obtainable exclusively through crafting or trading rather than traditional drop methods. The developers have introduced limitations on how many Expert Masteries a player can acquire, encouraging cooperation within the community. This design aims to support diverse character development and reinforce player interaction in economic and social aspects of the game. The official Steam page has also outlined the minimum and recommended PC specifications, highlighting the need for modern hardware and an SSD.

A recent job listing for a "NAMI-Level Planning" role has surfaced, outlining responsibilities such as designing MMO content, managing copy processes, and coordinating with teams on gameplay implementation. The listing specifically mentions MMO-related terms multiple times, indicating a possible shift or expansion into online multiplayer territory for the studio.

It also emphasizes familiarity with various platforms, including consoles and mobile devices, as well as the ability to optimize gameplay production. Age of Wushu in 2025 – What’s Going On

Overview

Age of Wushu is a martial arts-themed MMORPG developed by Chinese game company Snail. It features a tab-targeting combat system and places players in a fictional version of ancient China where they can create their own character and develop their skills as a martial artist. The game offers a sandbox-style environment where players can interact with each other, take part in various activities, and progress through a skill cultivation system rather than the traditional level-based approach seen in many MMORPGs.

Features

The gameplay centers around martial arts combat and skill development. Players can choose from various schools and master martial arts techniques while engaging in PvP, PvE, crafting, and story-driven quests. Combat involves a system that includes parries, feints, and attacks, which requires players to read opponents and respond accordingly. Progression is tied to cultivation points and skill mastery instead of leveling, which allows for different playstyles and builds. The game also includes social features and systems that simulate aspects of life in ancient China, such as jobs and factions.

History

Age of Wushu was first released on August 8, 2012. It was launched in multiple regions under different names, including Age of Wulin in Europe (published by Webzen), 9yin in Southeast Asia, and Legends of Kung Fu in other markets. It reached its peak visibility around 2013 when it expanded to a broader international audience, including regions like Thailand where search interest was high. Over time, the game maintained a niche following, and its developer Snail has continued limited support for the game.

Reception

The game initially attracted attention due to its departure from standard MMORPG progression systems and its focus on martial arts culture. However, over time, updates have become infrequent, and current feedback from players suggests that the game is largely being maintained rather than actively developed. A sequel, Age of Wushu 2, was announced several years ago and was expected to be developed using Unreal Engine 4. Interest around it grew in 2018 and 2019, but development has since stalled, with the last official news about it appearing in 2019.

Conclusion

As of 2025, Age of Wushu remains online but with minimal updates. The core game remains available to those still interested in its martial arts setting and sandbox systems, though expectations for major future developments are limited. A mobile version titled Age of Wushu Dynasty is available on Android and carries a moderate rating. While the franchise still holds a presence, its future remains uncertain due to the lack of new information from the developer.
