ArenaNet has introduced the first set of elite specializations for Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity, the game’s sixth expansion. The announcement covers three professions: the Mesmer, Ranger, and Guardian, each receiving a new specialization that offers an alternate combat approach. These additions were presented through a blog update, with further information scheduled for a livestream event on July 25.
The Mesmer’s new specialization, the Troubadour, replaces traditional shatter mechanics with musical instruments that provide support and control capabilities. The Ranger gains access to the Galeshot, a specialization focused on wind manipulation through the Cyclone Bow, using arrow-based resources for ranged attacks. The Guardian’s Luminary specialization introduces a Radiant Shroud system, where players temporarily switch to radiant weapon forms for flexible engagement strategies. Each specialization also introduces new traits and skills designed to support varied gameplay styles.
A beta event for these elite specializations will be available from August 20 to August 27. During this period, players will have the opportunity to test all announced elite specializations. ArenaNet has stated that additional elite specializations for the remaining professions will be introduced over the coming weeks through further previews.
