The June update for Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis (PSO2 NGS) introduces significant new content, including a continuation of the storyline, new gameplay features, and various enhancements. The latest chapter involves the discovery of the Nameless City as Leciel's investigation progresses. This area introduces new elements and characters, further expanding the narrative and providing players with fresh lore to explore. Additionally, a new quest, "Nameless City Exploration," is now available, where players collect rewards and Exploration Points while navigating through the newly unveiled field. Defense capabilities decrease based on the number of Exploration Points held, adding a strategic element to the quest. New adversaries such as Valvilan Axe and Gratigal make their debut, alongside the 11-star Rarity Eredim weapon series, which offers improvements in PP Recovery and PB Gauge, along with increased potential for critical hits.
The update also raises the class level cap to 90, introducing new quests and enhancing the Equipment Enhance Cap to +90 with up to 7 Augment Slots unlocked. The Creative Space section sees updates with the introduction of the Far Eastern Theme, complete with cherry blossoms and new Japona Build Parts. This addition allows for further customization and thematic exploration within the game. Alongside these updates, a limited-time quest titled "Special Training: Sand Road Sprint" is being introduced in celebration of Sonic's birthday. This event includes the gathering of Rings and Chaos Emeralds in the Retem Region, as well as the return of Sonic-themed objects to Central City, with the notable addition of Shadow this year.
Moreover, the update includes a high-difficulty quest called "Major Target Suppression Mission: Sign of the Planetbreaker Rank 2," adding more challenging content for experienced players. There is also a collaboration with the TV anime Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, offering players themed content and rewards. This update aims to enhance the gameplay experience with new story content, quests, and thematic events, providing a range of new activities and objectives for the PSO2 NGS community to engage with throughout the month of June.
