Final Fantasy 14's next major expansion, Dawntrail, is scheduled for release on July 2, 2024, with early access available on June 28. Announced at the 2023 Fan Fest in Las Vegas, this expansion will extend the game's level cap from 90 to 100 and introduce new gameplay features and a storyline set in the New World of Tural. Players will encounter a new hub city, Tuliyollal, and navigate various regions such as Urqopacha and Yak T'el, while engaging in the contest to determine the successor to Tural's current ruler, Gulool Ja Ja.
Dawntrail will also bring in two new playable jobs: Viper, a dual-wielding melee DPS, and Pictomancer, a ranged magical DPS, expanding the roster to 21 jobs. The female Hrothgar race, previously available only in male form, will be introduced as a playable option. The expansion will feature the usual array of content updates including new dungeons, raids, and trials, with an emphasis on maintaining the balance of solo and multiplayer experiences through the Duty Support system.
Accompanying the expansion, a graphical update aims to enhance the visual quality of the game while preserving the integrity of character appearances. Other planned updates include additional dye slots, cosmetic adjustments for headgear, and an eventual increase in the furnishing limit. These improvements are part of the ongoing efforts to modernize the game while responding to player feedback.
