Blue Protocol Japan's First Anniversary: New Content and System Updates Announced

Bandai Namco has revealed an extensive range of updates for Blue Protocol during its first anniversary stream. Among the highlights is a new story chapter featuring new maps, a higher level cap, and additional dungeons. The development team also revisited housing, offering a brief preview with improved visuals but limited details on its implementation. Players can anticipate a new city hub in an upcoming region, along with enhanced control options and additional gestures while seated. Additionally, new class action variations are set to expand combat mechanics without occupying extra skill slots.

The anniversary updates introduce a new weapon rarity system that categorizes weapons as normal, rare, or legendary, each with specific passive bonuses. Legendary weapons, in particular, are expected to contribute significantly to end-game builds. Furthermore, weapons reaching maximum limit break will receive random bonus stats and a visual enhancement at higher gear scores. The update also brings various new endgame content: challenging arena battles with cosmetic rewards, difficult missions with weapon skin recipes, and more complex versions of existing dungeons with random variations. Details on an awakening battle imajin feature were briefly mentioned, though specifics remain unclear.

Additional features include new minigames like hide-and-seek and a beach volleyball-like activity, aimed at enhancing social gameplay. A new free cosmetic gacha system will allow players to earn tickets for cosmetics through gameplay, with multiple gacha banners available simultaneously and the ability to retrieve outfits from past banners. Changes to the season pass include a reduction in cost, a shift from 60-day to 30-day durations, and the removal of rose orbs and battle imajin from the pass, along with a new method to acquire old imajin for free. These updates are designed to refine and enhance the player experience in Blue Protocol.
