Ragnarok Online’s Warportal server has released the second part of its Varmundt Biosphere update, expanding the game’s endgame content. The update introduces three new areas—Biosphere Soul, Venom, and Temple—each accessible through designated coordinates. These new locations require a base level of 240, and they include updated monster drops and field challenges tailored for higher-level characters. Players entering these areas may encounter new monsters and MVPs that drop the recently added Varmundt Rune Ring and related materials.
The Varmundt Rune Ring is a new accessory item that can be upgraded into one of three specialized variants: Soul, Venom, or Temple Rune Rings. To complete the upgrade, players must collect 20 of the corresponding runes along with a base ring. These upgraded accessories are account-bound and offer attribute enhancements that differ depending on the type. Additionally, equipment reform is now available for rune gear with a minimum refine level of +7, though this does not apply to accessories. Reforming retains the item’s current stats and also allows for random enchantments to be added, with the option to reset using in-game currency and relevant runes.
The update also includes functionality for accessory enchantment using a separate system. Players can apply up to three enchantments to rings, with the results and required materials differing from other equipment. A new NPC, the Ore Researcher, has been added to convert high-grade ores into stones, expanding equipment crafting and refinement options. These changes are part of the ongoing adjustments to provide more content for higher-level progression without altering the base game structure.
