ArenaNet has launched a beta event for Guild Wars 2, giving players the opportunity to try out all nine elite specializations that will arrive with the upcoming expansion, Visions of Eternity, scheduled for release on October 28. The event is available to all accounts in good standing, including free-to-play users, without requiring a prepurchase of the expansion.
During the beta, participants receive temporary character slots marked “Beta,” which allow them to create and test new elite specialization builds across various modes, including open world exploration, World vs. World, structured PvP, and Fractals of the Mists. However, any progress, rewards, or currency earned during the beta will not be saved once the event concludes. Originally planned to end on August 27, the beta has been extended until August 29 following technical issues.
ArenaNet has also encouraged players to provide feedback on their experiences with the new elite specializations. The developer is collecting input on aspects such as design, balance, and usability to help guide adjustments ahead of the expansion’s release. This approach allows the community to preview the changes while contributing to the refinement of the upcoming content.
