Albion Online’s upcoming update, Rogue Frontier, scheduled for release this February, focuses on enhancing solo and small-scale activities within the Outlands. Among the key additions are Smuggler’s Dens, which will serve as new safe hubs, replacing the existing Outlands Banks. These Dens allow players to set a home base and access a Smuggler’s Market Network, connecting markets across the Outlands and facilitating trade. However, fast travel with equipped gear will not be permitted. This change is aimed at offering greater utility for solo players and smaller groups who prefer to operate in these regions.
The update also introduces a new Smuggler Faction, offering small-group and solo activities such as securing crates from ambushed wagons and delivering them to Hidden Smuggler Stashes. Additional tasks include freeing captured smugglers from Royal Guards and collecting Smuggler Coins from Hidden Treasures. Completing these activities contributes to Faction Standing, unlocking rewards such as the Smuggler Vanity Set and the Smuggler Cape, which provides a potion cooldown reduction. These activities are designed to promote swift tactics while limiting the dominance of larger guilds in the region.
Another notable feature is the Bank Overview, which allows players to remotely view and search their personal and guild bank tabs, streamlining bank management. Players can also access corresponding city banks directly from their personal islands, improving logistical efficiency. Additional features, such as Crystal Weapons, Resource Wisps, Kill Trophies, and a new Journal category, are expected to be detailed in an upcoming developer discussion. This update reflects Albion Online's continued efforts to refine its gameplay systems and expand opportunities for diverse player engagement.
