The Elder Scrolls Online is set to introduce its Update 44, with a range of changes and additions for players. Scheduled for release on October 28 for PC/Mac and November 13 for consoles, this update will bring adjustments to the Battlegrounds PvP system, replacing the traditional three-team format with two-sided 4v4 and 8v8 matches. Along with these changes, seven new maps will be available, with new powerups introduced to the 8v8 mode.
Update 44 also introduces two new companions, Tanlorin and Zerith-var. Tanlorin is a High Elf combining Soul Magic and Dragonknight abilities, while Zerith-var, a Khajiit, uses Necromancy. Players can acquire these companions through the ESO Plus membership or the in-game Crown Store. Each companion offers unique perks, and their special abilities can be permanently unlocked by completing their specific achievements.
Additional updates include new skills and mechanics, such as the Banner Bearer skill for group support, updates to the in-game tutorial, and adjustments to the Imperial City’s itemization and rewards system. The update will also feature a new activity and rewards system called Golden Pursuits, offering limited-time challenges for various in-game rewards. Further details are expected to be released closer to the update's launch.
