Blue Protocol Shutting Down in Japan; Mobile Version Continues Development

Blue Protocol, the MMO developed by Bandai Namco, is officially shutting down in Japan. The announcement, made by the development team, confirms that the Japanese version will cease operations on January 18, 2025. This news comes despite the game not having been released outside of Japan, affecting future plans for the Amazon Games version, which has now been halted due to the closure of the original version.

However, while the PC and console versions of Blue Protocol are set to end, the mobile version remains in development. The mobile adaptation of Blue Protocol is still progressing, with a closed beta test scheduled in China. This version, unlike the PC and console iterations, is a gacha-based game, focusing on a different gameplay model that targets mobile gamers.

The divergence between the PC/console and mobile versions signals a shift in the game's future direction. With the console and PC versions discontinued, the mobile version may offer an alternative experience for fans of the franchise, although details on a wider release remain uncertain.
