Guild Wars 2 has announced the addition of a new PvP game mode called Push, aimed at providing players with an alternative to the existing Conquest mode. Push is designed to offer a more straightforward experience by focusing on a single objective, where teams work to push the objective toward the enemy base while preventing the opposing team from doing the same. A beta event for this new mode will be available from September 10 to September 23, allowing players to test the mode and provide feedback that will be integral to its ongoing development.
The Push mode is still in its early stages, and players will experience a prototype map that includes placeholder art and assets borrowed from other parts of the game. ArenaNet encourages players to participate in the beta and share their thoughts on the mode’s mechanics, offering insight into whether it meets expectations for both new and experienced PvP players. This community-driven approach follows a similar path to the development of Stronghold mode, which underwent significant changes based on player feedback during its beta phase.
In addition to the Push beta, Guild Wars 2 will see the return of the Tournament of Legends on September 21. This competitive event will be held every six months moving forward, giving players the opportunity to participate in high-level competition. These updates reflect the ongoing effort to enhance the PvP experience in the game while maintaining an active dialogue with the player base.
