Ragnarok Online 3 Developers Address Pay-to-Win Concerns After Pioneer Test

Ragnarok Online 3 has concluded the first phase of its Pioneer Test on September 13, and the development team released a detailed response to feedback received from participating players. Among the topics raised, monetization and concerns about potential pay-to-win systems were at the forefront of community discussions. Developers acknowledged these concerns directly, issuing statements regarding their approach to maintaining fairness between paying and non-paying players.

In their response, the developers clarified that the issue is not with monthly passes or free-to-play models themselves but with the possibility of introducing systems that could give an advantage to those who spend money over those who do not. They stated that payment within the game should not serve as a substitute for skill, and instead, should come as a voluntary contribution from players who wish to support the project. The team stressed that player experience and balance remain a priority.

Additionally, the developers encouraged continued communication from the community. They invited players to share concerns or suggestions through direct channels such as Discord, with the intent of shaping Ragnarok Online 3 in alignment with player expectations. This exchange indicates the studio’s ongoing effort to integrate player feedback into the game’s development as it moves forward beyond the initial test phase.
