Tree of Savior Server Merge Announcement by Papaya Play

Papaya Play has announced a server merge for Tree of Savior, combining the Popolion and Kepa servers into a single server named Kepa. This decision is intended to address a declining player base on both servers and provide a more cohesive community experience. The merge will involve transferring eligible team data from Popolion to Kepa, with detailed criteria established to determine which teams are preserved. Teams with login or payment history on Popolion will be transferred, while inactive teams without qualifying activity will be deleted following the pre-registration period.

Players with teams on both servers must pre-register their preferred team for transfer by January 6, 2025, or the system will apply specific rules to prioritize teams for migration. Ranking systems and guild-related functions will also undergo resets, including content like raid leaderboards and territory claims. Guilds will follow specific guidelines based on the transfer status of their leaders, and provisions have been made to address name duplication between guilds.

Additionally, certain game features such as Fishing, Team Battle League, and Guild Territory Wars will be suspended briefly before the merge to ensure a smooth transition. The pre-registration period is open from December 16, 2024, allowing players to prepare for the merge and manage their accounts accordingly. Papaya Play advises players to claim rewards and complete activities tied to rankings on the Popolion server before the merge is finalized.

The Elder Scrolls Online: A Look Ahead to 2025 and Beyond

ZeniMax Online Studios has shared insights into the future of The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) in its latest studio director’s letter. Reflecting on 2024, the development team expressed satisfaction with the year’s content releases, including the Gold Road chapter, new companions, and battleground adjustments. The team also highlighted successful in-person community events, including the Amsterdam 10-Year Anniversary gathering, and noted the importance of these opportunities to engage with players directly. As the game evolves, the studio is preparing for significant changes to its content release model and broader gameplay experience.

Starting in 2025, ESO will transition from its established annual chapter format to a seasonal content model. This approach will allow for more frequent and varied updates, such as story-driven events, dungeons, and new gameplay features, spread across three or six-month seasons. The team aims to provide smaller, more flexible content pieces while continuing to release larger updates when appropriate. This shift is designed to give the developers more freedom to experiment with new ideas, address community feedback, and refine systems to better serve the player base.

The letter also addressed plans to enhance the experience for new and returning players. Updates include improving the new player onboarding process, refining UI elements to help returning players reorient themselves, and visual upgrades to starting zones. Additionally, the team is exploring adjustments to core systems, including combat mechanics and zone designs, alongside testing experimental features. These efforts underscore the studio’s commitment to adapting ESO to meet the evolving needs of its community while maintaining the game’s core appeal.

Sword Art Online: Integral Factor Introduces Chain Skills and New Content

The latest update for Sword Art Online: Integral Factor introduces Chain Skills, a new gameplay feature aimed at enhancing skill mechanics during combat. By using Chain Skills, players can enter a temporary Chain state, enabling all equipped skills to be used as switches. Certain conditions apply, such as the requirement for non-Chain Skills to be Limit Break +10. This system also allows for specialized effects when multiple Chain Skills are combined, and a Super Chain mechanic provides additional damage based on the frequency of skill switches within the Chain state.

The update also introduces Counter Switch, a feature that lets players counter specific enemy attacks by timing a Chain Skill correctly. This mechanic applies a debuff to the enemy, increasing damage dealt for a limited time. Existing monsters, including floor bosses and dungeon bosses, now have Counter Switch-targeted attacks, with visual indicators marking the timing for activation. The system adds a layer of strategic depth to battles, though it is limited by cooldowns and specific attack types.

In addition to gameplay adjustments, Aincrad’s 19th floor has been added, including a new quest and boss avatars. The update also unlocks Gale Integral Series weapon transformations and eases the production and transformation requirements for the Integral Series and Chaos Showdown content. These changes provide players with new exploration opportunities and additional customization for character progression.
