World of Warcraft Marks 20th Anniversary with Commemorative Event

Today, Blizzard Entertainment has launched the World of Warcraft 20th Anniversary Celebration, marking two decades of the iconic MMORPG. The event, which runs from October 22, 2024, through January 6, 2025, is centered around the Caverns of Time in Tanaris. Players level 10 and above are invited to take part in a range of activities, from collecting a new currency, Bronze Celebration Tokens, to earning rewards such as new mounts, transmog sets, and Blizzard Employee Service Award cosmetics. The event also offers the opportunity to engage in both PvE and PvP content, including a revisit to Blackrock Depths and participation in Korrak’s Revenge in Alterac Valley.

A notable addition is the expansion of the Dracthyr race, now available to play in new classes such as Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Mage, Warrior, and Warlock. Alongside this, Shaman players can explore new Ascendance forms, each tailored to their specialization. For those interested in nostalgia, the event provides Timewalking dungeons, featuring classic content from the original game. Players can also expect the return of iconic world bosses, including Sha of Anger and Archavon the Stonewatcher, providing additional challenges during the celebration.

As part of the anniversary, Blizzard has introduced a variety of in-game activities at the event's hub, including quests with Chromie, mount displays, and secret-solving tasks. Additionally, the Trading Post will feature Warcraft III-themed items, commemorating 30 years of the Warcraft franchise. Overall, the 20th Anniversary Celebration provides players with multiple ways to engage in both new and returning content, offering a diverse range of activities throughout the event’s duration.
